New technology, new directions!

Finally got a graphics tablet and so am starting to learn how to use it, it feels much more natural to be using a pen when I am trying to "draw" on the computer. And a new printer!! Whoop whoop!!

So am starting to develop work ready to convert into etchings or screenprints.

Finally finished, now to get on with other stuff and eventually find my way to doing stuff for me.

Photoshop, learning about layers and clone stamping, first time I've made something from nothing and not purely just as photo manipulation, I too can now make naff cards for Hallmark or similar!

An interesting site for those of you without access to Illustrator or similar design programmes, and a cool idea for gifts for yourself or family. Not sure about the costs of postage from the USA tho

RE: Life Drawing in London

Went to life drawing class held in Old Queens Head, Angel on Saturday, 3 hours, no instruction but excellent model for £10. The poses were challenging, space was lovely and light, lots of sitting down space, other drawers were of variable levels, but I had forgotten how hard it was drawing from life so I was somewhat disappointed by my efforts, but will endeavour to go as often as my wallet will allow so that I can continue to improve. Also forgot just how exhausting working like that can be, so exacerbated my ME a little, and am definitely paying for it now.

If you can't get out to a class, but would like to do something, try Spine TV, also an excellent little website for arts in general and they run all sorts of little contests for a variety of different areas, animation, film, illustration and so on.

Short 2 minute poses using a brush pen, fantastic creation, Indian ink, relatively clean, easily accessible. Sometimes I like it when I am looser with brush strokes, but I am never sure where to go once I have committed to these brush strokes, but am aiming develop more of a loose style, let's see what life with a projector brings, I have a feeling that I will tighten more and end up practically photo realistic (which will be enough of a shock for me to push the looser strokes again)

Longer 20 minute poses, some interesting foreshortening issues to be addressed here, which is always fun to do, making the brain work as well as just drawing what you see, as I find that I have to constantly readjust what my head knows is a leg and the shapes that are being placed on the page, was also a joy to be back working in pencil, to have that control again.

Website new address, improved layout, I knew that putting it out there would make me consolidate my ideas and what I wanted to do with the website. Why is that the publication, showing of work makes us more focused and able to really show our true(r) vision? Once I sell a piece I always want to grab it back and just add slightly more pink in that tiny corner or completely revamp the composition. This is why it takes so long for me to finish anything as I am constantly re-evaluating the piece, particularly with paintings, not so much with prints. Anyway, better crack on with Trinity.
